Sophisticated and environmentally friendlyThe East Hangar is a novelty in Swiss aviation. A total of 12 business jets will find room on two turntables with a diameter each of 32 meters. The sophisticated roof construction of wood will also bear 850 solar cells which will generate electricity for 40 to 50 households. Following that was the ground breaking ceremony carried out by the Administrative Council President, Alfred Lüthi. The new East Hangar will make Grenchen Airport more attractive for business travellers. This is necessary for securing long term viability of the airport in the South Jura area. More...
